The name Meister - German for “master” was chosen not by chance, but as a direct reflection of the company’s unwavering commitment to mastery in scale modeling. From its earliest beginnings, the mission has remained clear: to create “master scale” aircraft that fly as beautifully as they look, capturing the spirit, form, and presence of the original warbirds they represent.
A Tradition of Precision
The origins of Meister Scale™ trace back to the early 1970s, when the founder began handcrafting scale model aircraft with a goal far greater than simple replication - he aimed to make them fly like the real thing. What started as a passion project evolved into JemStar, an early kit company that quickly gained recognition for its innovation. One of the most significant advancements was the development of the JIG-LOC construction system - a pioneering self-jigging design that enabled modelers to build large, complex airframes with exceptional accuracy and ease.
As demand for more detailed and larger-scale aircraft grew, so did the ambition. In 1984, the company was rebranded as Meister Scale™, signaling a new era of focus on giant-scale warbirds that offered not only scale fidelity but also commanding presence in the air. Each model was designed with meticulous research - based on firsthand documentation and full-scale measurements - ensuring that no detail was left to interpretation.
